FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Kenneth W. Smith, 70, of Fairfield, husband of Jeanne Markoja Smith, died Friday, July 3 in Saint Vincent's Medical Center.
Born in Meriden, and raised in Southington, he was the son of the late Wavel and Margaret Cargo Smith. He worked in IT for Lone Star Industries of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Hubbell Corporation of Bridgeport, Connecticut, prior to his employment, and later retirement from Warnaco of Bridgeport. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – John Joseph (“Jack”) White, 90, of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, June 30.
He was born in Bridgeport June 21, 1925. A proud veteran of World War II, he served on the USS New Jersey (BB 62) and enjoyed recounting his numerous adventures to everyone he met, especially those who took note of the USS New Jersey hat that he always wore. The Southwest Ledge Lighthouse in New Haven Harbor off the coast of Morris Cove was a fond spot where he spent time as a youngster with his dad, who was one of its lighthouse keepers.

NORWALK, Conn. – Elyse Gammer, 64, of Norwalk, died suddenly Wednesday, July 1 at Norwalk Hospital.
Born in Norwalk April 23, 1951, she was the daughter of Ernest Gammer and the late Dorothy Bobrowsky Gammer. Gammer had a distinguished and award-winning career in marketing research and as an association management executive.
