July Is Peak Month For Lightning Strike Deaths WESTCHESTER COUNTY , N.Y. – July is the peak month for deaths caused by lightning strikes, reports the Weather Channel.   Summer has more thunderstorms that occur during a season where more people are outside, leading to a higher number strikes – an average of 15 lightning deaths occurred in July from 2006 to 2014. Man, 46, Charged With DWI In Patterson PATTERSON, N.Y. – A Bronx man was arrested for aggravated DWI Tuesday, June 30 in Patterson, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. Thomas R. Forni, 46, was stopped near the Putnam-Dutchess line and determined that Forni was intoxicated. Forni was ordered to appear in the Town of Patterson Justice Court on a later date. If found guilty, he could face up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

Yorktown Grange Car Show Rescheduled YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The Fourth Annual Yorktown Grange Car Show, originally scheduled for Sunday, June 28, was postponed due to rainy weather and has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 12, at the Yorktown Grange Fairgrounds.
