Mahopac Fire Department Holding Annual Carnival, Parade
MAHOPAC, N.Y. – The Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department is holding its annual carnival July 9, 10 and 11 and July 16, 17 and 18, with the parade kicking off festivities Thursday, July 9.
Bracelet nights will be Friday, July 10 and Thursday, July 16. One payment will pay for rides all night. Bring the family for a night of food, fun and games.
Pick up raffle tickets for a $5 donation. This year’s raffle prize is a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Edition. The jeep will be given away on the last night of the carnival, Saturday, July 18.

Antoinette Socci, 95, Of Darien
DARIEN, Conn. – Antoinette Socci, 95, of Darien, died Friday, July 3.
She was born in 1920 in Settefrati, Italy, to Antonio and Loreta Pellicci. She emigrated with her family from Italy in 1930 and spent most of her life in New York City and Bronx, New York, before moving to Darien 25 years ago.
Prior to working at the Darien YMCA for over 15 years caring for children, for 50 years she worked as a seamstress in New York. Her greatest pleasure was to gather family and friends around a table of delicious food that she enjoyed cooking for everyone. She loved music, the theater, opera, God …
Yorktown Grange Car Show Rescheduled
YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The Fourth Annual Yorktown Grange Car Show, originally scheduled for Sunday, June 28, was postponed due to rainy weather and has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 12, at the Yorktown Grange Fairgrounds.
Price of admission is $3 per car. Gates open at 8 a.m. for exhibitors and at 10 a.m. for spectators. Exhibitors pay $15 for advance registration and $20 at the gate.

Anna Lefkowski Siembad, 102, Of Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Anna Lefkowski Siembad, 102, of Bridgeport, wife of the late Walter Siembab, died Thursday, July 2.
She was born Aug. 13, 1912, in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Bridget Tylenda Lefkowski. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed sewing, gardening, country music, birds, animals and family pets. She was a nature enthusiast and cherished spending time with family.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Blaisdell of Stratford, Connecticut; one grandson of Stratford; and several nieces and nephews.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Christo Bargiuma, of Bridgeport, died suddenly Wednesday, July 1.
Bargiuma was born in Kranea, Macedonia, Greece, to the late Ioan and Ioana Mihadas Bargiuma. After finishing high school in Thessaloniki, Greece, he went on to college in Spain on a scholarship where he studied chemistry and graduated cum laude from Salamanca University. He was a soccer player for Megas Alexandros team in Thessaloniki and he was a volleyball player and coach for the Real Madrid club in Spain. John L. (Jack) Anderson, 83, Of Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – John L. (Jack) Anderson, 83, of Fairfield, died Monday, June 15 at Bridgeport Hospital.
Born in Mount Vernon, New York, he was educated through the Mount Vernon public schools and received an electronic degree in advanced technology from the RCA Institute of Technology. He was employed by Bunker Ramo, where he was in charge of product development and served as laboratory supervisor. He enjoyed boating on Long Island Sound.
