White Plains Likely To OK Cover Charges For Restaurants, Bars WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A proposal was outlined at Monday night’s city council meeting in White Plains that will allow bars and restaurants to charge a cover when live music is on site, reports lohud. Outlined by Commissioner of Building Damon Amadio, the businesses would have to provide a form to the Department of Public Safety 10 days before the event and the owner or an appointed designee would have to be on site during the event, according to the report. Pound Ridge Holding Fireworks Display Friday POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge will hold Fourth of July celebrations Friday, July 3 from 6-10 p.m. at the town park. Bring a picnic supper or purchase food and drink from the Boy Scouts. Buses will take residents back and forth from the Pound Ridge Elementary School to the town park from 5 p.m. until after the fireworks display. The pool will stay open until 8 p.m., but cars must be removed from the parking lot by 4 p.m. No cars will be permitted to park in the parking lot after 4 p.m. A rain date will be held Sunday, July 5 if necessary.

The $1,000 annual scholarship was established in memory of Christopher Nordquist, who died at 2 years old, and gave the gift of sight to two people as an eye donor.
