Serge Rinchere, 71, Of Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. – Serge Rinchere, 71, of Stamford, died Friday, July 17 at Stamford Hospital. Rinchere was born Dec. 31, 1943, in Port-Au-Prince Haiti. He worked as a welder. He is survived by his sons, Gulliano Rinchere, Raymond Rinchere, Serge Rinchere Jr. and Jean N. Rinchere; and two brothers. Her father was Dunstano Morfin, a public servant who dedicated his life to helping the people of Michoacan, Mexico. She and her husband, Mike, settled in Chicago where they raised four children. He was an avid drummer and enjoyed fishing. He also was a small engine mechanic, and worked for Brian Fencing for many years. He is survived by his longtime partner, Ellen Israel, and many cousins. Lake Peekskill Man Charged In Landlord, Tenant Dispute LAKE PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – A Lake Peekskill man was arrested Wednesday for a landlord – tenant dispute, according to New York State Police. Daniel T. Dziedzic, 54, was charged with menacing in the third degree for making threats against the victim. Following his arraignment, Dziedzic was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear before the Putnam Valley Court Tuesday, July 28.

Volunteer Accused Of Stealing From Putnam Church PATTERSON, N.Y. – A woman was arrested Wednesday for stealing from a church where she volunteers, according to New York State Police. Denise Pimentel, 42, of New Fairfield, Conn., was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree after an investigation revealed she took $1,023 in cash from the Sacred Heart Church in the Hamlet of Putnam Lake. The money came from the previous weekend’s donations from parishioners. Pimentel was arraigned at the Town of Patterson Court and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond. She is due back in court Thursday, Sept. …

South Salem Fire Department Holding Annual Parade, Carnival SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. – The South Salem Fire Department’s annual carnival and parade will be held Wednesday, Aug. 5 through Saturday, Aug. 8 at the fire department grounds. The carnival will kick off Aug. 5 from 6-10 p.m., with a parade starting at 7 p.m. and concluding at the firehouse. The carnival will take place Aug. 6 and Aug. 7 from 6-10 p.m., and Aug. 8 from 5-10 p.m. Bracelets and tickets will be offered every night, and games, rides, prizes, food t-shirts and a raffle will also be available.
