FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Nicholas V. Paulik, 80, of Fairfield, died Monday, Aug. 3.
Born in Norwalk, the son of the late Albert and Julia Paulik, he had been a resident of Westport for 40 years. Retired from the automotive industry, he moved to Fairfield in 2003.
Beloved husband of Grace (Fiore) Paulik for 56 years, he is survived by his two children Megan Whitton (Jack) of Redding, Connecticut; and Dave Paulik (Maura) of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

NORWALK, Conn. – Tarsha (Simms) Scovens, 45, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, July 29.
She was born Jan. 14, 1970, to the late Travis Simms, Sr. and Barbara Paulk.
Scovens was a lifelong resident of Norwalk. She attended local schools and graduated from Norwalk High School.

30 of 36 Westport RTM Members Running For Re-election
WESTPORT, Conn. – Thirty of the 36 members of the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) plan to seek re-election this fall, according to Town Clerk Patricia Strauss.
Representation on the RTM, a non-partisan legislative body, is based on population from nine districts, four members from each district. Members are elected for two-year terms.
Districts 1, 2, 4 and 7 have all four incumbents running. The remaining five districts have openings. Districts 3, 5, 6 and 8 each have three incumbents running, and District 9 has two incumbents running.

Lewisboro Land Trust Holding Hike Through Indian Brook Assemblage
KATONAH, N.Y. – Join Lewisboro Land Trust Saturday, Aug. 8 at 9 a.m. for a family-friendly hike through part of the Indian Brook Assemblage.
The 1-hour slow-paced hike, led by Helen Peeples, will wind through a meadow, skirt a 500-acre pond, meander up and down a hilly woods, which are steep at times, cross a stream on a rock bed, and give hikers an opportunity to see a petite waterfall. Hikers may also see wild turkey and deer running through the preserve.

Norwalk Police Hosting SoNo Day At Ryan Park
NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk’s SoNo Day Out will take place Saturday, Aug. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ryan Park.
Hosted by the Norwalk Police Department, activities will include volleyball, basketball, kickball, Zumba, a Hula Hoop contest, bouncy house, face painting, puppet show, arts and crafts, a house fire simulator, blood pressure screenings, free food and more.
The highlight of the festivities will be a tug-of-war battle between Norwalk’s police and fire departments.
