NORWALK, Conn. – Jeff Schack, 60, of Norwalk, died Friday, July 31.
The son of the late Estelle and Gabe Schack, he was a professional chef and musician.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Taffy (Barbara) Koenig; three children Rebecca, Hannah and Daniel Schack; a sister; a brother; and five in-laws; a niece; and various nephews, one grandnephew and one grandniece.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Vivian Gail Curwin, 94, of Stamford, died Monday, Aug. 3.
She was born May 10, 1921, in Argyle, Michigan, to the late Charles and Minnie Maude Spaetzel Sharrard.
She is survived by her children, Darle Tobel of Michigan; Gerald A. Curwin, Jr. of Brandon, Florida; and Leanna Gallup of Stamford; a niece; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald A. Curwin, Sr., in 2003.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Elizabeth M. Teplica (Betty Tyler), 85, of Stamford, died Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Smith House Health Care Center in Stamford.
Born Oct. 22, 1929, in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late John Michael and Mary Mazley Teplica. She graduated from Darien High School in 1949. She loved to ice skate, dance, garden and cook.

Reverend Carlton R. Tucker, Of Stamford
STAMFORD, Conn. – Reverend Carlton R. Tucker, of Norwalk, died Sunday, July 26.
He was born Aug. 1, 1944. Rev. Tucker co-pastored at Good News Church of Faith in Greenwich, counseled for Pivot Ministries of Norwalk, and served as Chaplin at Stamford's Mediplex Health Care Center. In 2004, he became associate minister of Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Stamford.
He is survived by his son, David Carleton; two grandchildren; his fiancée, Vivian Zhang; two sisters; a brother; and two aunts.

NORWALK, Conn. – Jane Audrey Mentzer, 93, of Norwalk, died June 22 in Norwalk Hospital.
She was born in Struthers, Ohio, Nov. 11, 1921, to Ruth G. Creed and Judge Dahl B. Cooper.
She grew up in Struthers, Ohio, and attended Struthers High School, where she and her twin sister graduated as co-valedictorians. From high school, she attended Oberlin College in Ohio. She married her husband, Charles Calvin Mentzer, on Nov. 12, 1943, while he was a captain in the U.S. Army Air Force.
