Stamford Board Of Education Member Dolores Burgess Resigns
STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford Board of Education member Dolores Burgess resigned Tuesday, reports the Stamford Times. Burgess, 69, who had served on the board since Oct. 2014, is planning to relocate to North Carolina with her mother, according to the report. A recent survey conducted by C4, a consumer research firm, states that 48 percent of moviegoers would pay $1 or more for extra security in theaters, and that 23 percent would pay $2 or more, according to the report. After an ax-wielding man was shot by police in a Nashville movie theater Aug. 5, the number of people willing to pay $3 or more rose from 13 percent to 19 percent, according to Vulture. Harrison Firefighter Charles Giacomo Resigns Amid Pressure
HARRISON, N.Y. – Harrison firefighter Charles Giacomo resigned from the firehouse last week amid allegations of insubordination and a suspension, reports lohud. Giacomo was suspended in June and charged with eight insubordination charges related to not recognizing volunteer chiefs’ authority, stating he wouldn’t respond to calls in certain areas of Harrison because he didn't know anyone who lived there, and leaving his post in fire department vehicles twice without permission, according to the report.
