Rita Romano, 97, Of Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Rita May Buggie Romano, 97, of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, Aug. 25.
She was born May 14, 1918, in Bridgeport, to Thomas and Margaret Malone Buggie. She worked at Mitchell Brothers where she met her husband. She later retired from Remington Rand where she worked for more than 25 years.
In addition to her daughter, Peggie Lopez and friend Joe Mainiero, she is survived by three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; her sister-in-law of Florida; and several nieces and nephew.

Rye Arts Center Exhibits 'Inspired: Masters And Students'
RYE, N.Y. – The Rye Arts Center is hosting “Inspired: Masters and Students” exhibition by Ouattara Watts and Bradley Theodore, with The Young Men of the Youth Shelter Program of Westchester, Wednesday, Sept. 9 through Saturday, Sept. 12.
An opening reception for the exhibition will be held Thursday, Sept. 10 from 6-8 p.m.

Leo P. Cooley, 77, Of Valhalla
VALHALLA, N.Y. – Leo Patrick Cooley, 77, of Valhalla, died Tuesday, Aug. 25.
The eldest son of the late Leo and Alice Cooley, he was born July 20, 1938, in Flushing, New York.
He graduated from St. Augustine High School in Brooklyn, in 1956, and received a bachelor’s degree in English from Fordham University in 1960. He completed his doctorate in English and Irish literature at New York University in 1969.
During his 45 years at Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York, he taught Modern British and Irish literature as well as creative writing.

Yonkers Man Arrested In Yorktown On Unauthorized Use Of Vehicle Charge
YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A Yonkers man was arrested on Aug. 20 in Yorktown on an outstanding arrest warrant on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, according to the Yorktown Police Department.
Robert Chirurgi, 28, of 40 Yonkers Ave., was accused of taking a vehicle from a residence Saturday, June 20, without the consent of the owner. He was also accused of violating an order of protection, according to officials.

Mario Capogrosso, 86, Of New Rochelle
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Mario Capogrosso, 86, of New Rochelle, died Sunday, Aug. 23.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a professional engineer. He also had a great love of reading.
He was the husband of Eleanor for 57 years, and father of Eleanor, Mario, Jr. and William.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at St. Pius X Church and he was laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

YONKERS, N.Y. – Richard T. Cleary, 72, of Yonkers, died Saturday, Aug. 15 in Orlando, Fla.
He was born Dec. 3, 1942, in Yonkers, to Sylvester Patrick Cleary and Mary O'Connor. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers and retired as a first sergeant in the New York National Guard. He had a 30-year career in sales management with the Bell System.
He loved golf, the New York Yankees and Ireland.
