Build Poems With Book Spines For East Rutherford Library Teen Contest
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The East Rutherford Memorial Library is holding a teen book-spine poetry contest in honor of teen week, which begins Sunday and runs through Saturday, Oct. 24. Teens and tweens can take at least three books, stack them up and arrange them to create a poem using the book titles. Take a photo, then share it with the library. All entries should be submitted to Miss Maria at maria.russo@eastrutherford.bccls.org and post them on the library’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Entries must be submitted by Friday, Oct. 30. First place wins a Dunkin Donuts gift card.

John Jay High School Displays Spirit At Pep Rally
CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – The students at John Jay High School capped off Spirit Week and showcased their school pride with a traditional pep rally on Oct. 9. Students cheered as their peers introduced their sports teams and captains acknowledged senior year players. The pep rally kicked off two days of homecoming games, which brought together students, parents, alumni and community members. Bedford Police Revive 22-Year-Old With Naloxone
BEDFORD, N.Y. – Bedford police revived a 22-year-old male early Thursday morning by using Naloxone, a medication used to counter opioid overdose, reports the Bedford Police Department. Police responded to a private residence at approximately 1:30 a.m. for a call about the male who was unresponsive and barely breathing, according to officials. After being given Naloxone, the man regained consciousness and began breathing normally. He was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital, police say.

Police Seek Suspects In Westchester Apple Store ID Theft
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The New York State Police are seeking the public’s assistance to help identify two females who are wanted for questioning regarding an identity theft incident that took place in August at the White Plains Apple Store.
