Joseph T. Malik, 96, Of Clifton
CLIFTON, N.J. – Joseph T. Malik, 96, of Clifton, died Monday, Nov. 2.
He was the son of the late Josef and Mary (neé Tuburcy).
A member of the American Legion Russel Dul Post (Passaic) and a World War II veteran, his battalion, 820th Company B, was the second to land on Normandy Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. He worked for Factory Equipment Co. in Bloomfield and Davis Flavors in Clifton. He retired in 1983.
He was the brother of Helen Yatsko, the late Theodore, John and Julius Malik, Sophie Vnenchak, Jean Noller, Ann Skrocki and Rose Matyasovski, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. – Paul M. Schmelzer, 87, of Ridgewood, died Friday, Nov. 6.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Ann) Schmelzer; his children Joseph (Diana); Marianne (Michael) Brown; Paul; Roseann (Steve) Rocchio; and Teresa (Dennis) Statue; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister; and two nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., Ridgewood. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Annunciation, 50 West Midland Ave., Paramus. Interment will take place at Mary Rest Cemetery.

Angela Lee Weber, 87, Of Montvale
MONTVALE, N.J. – Angela Lee Weber (neé Pansini), 87, of Montvale, formerly of Cresskill and Hoboken, died Thursday, Nov. 5.
She was born In Molfetta, Italy, and came to the United States in 1930. As a teenager, she helped her parents operate their bakery in Hoboken. In addition to being a full-time homemaker and mother, she had numerous positions outside the home, including credit manager for the Windsor-Newton Co. of Secaucus for 20 years.
She was a member of the Montvale Seniors Club and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. – Caroline J. Benoit, (neé Daley), a 58-year resident of Ridgewood, died Saturday, Nov. 7.
She was the wife of her favorite dance partner, the late Woodrow F. Benoit, who predeceased her in 2002.
She is survived by her children, Peter and Sue, Stephen, Caron and Andreas; three grandchildren; two nephews; and two nieces.
A graduate of the Syracuse University School of Nursing, she served in the U.S. Army Cadet Nurse Corps from 1943-48. She became vice president of Ramapo Travel in Airmont, N.Y., and traveled extensively. She was a volunteer, serving with the N.A. Bleshman …

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. – Mary Teresa Hemmer (neé Bailey), 89, of Woodcliff Lake, formerly of Paramus, died Monday, Nov. 9.
She was the wife of the late Paul Hemmer, who died in 2004.
She is survived by her children Thomas Hemmer and his wife, Janet, of Parsippany; Robert Hemmer and his wife, Margaret, of Glen Rock; Maryanne Virgadamo; James Hemmer and his wife, Kathleen, of Basking Ridge; and David Hemmer and his wife, Virginia, of Springfield, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – John E. Malesardi, 68, lifelong resident of Eastchester, died Sunday, Nov. 8.
He worked at Hudson Valley Bank as first senior vice president, investment officer for 34 years before retiring. He was treasurer for the Town of Nyack and treasurer for the Eastchester Fire Department, as well as the Eastchester School District. He was very involved in civic organizations including the Eastchester Italian American Club where he served as their treasurer and as a past president of the Yonkers Exchange Club.
