Dobbs Ferry Youths Perform At New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- The Dobbs Ferry-based Marching Cobras of New York performed during the 255th annual St. Patrick's Day parade in New York City on Thursday.  The Cobras are composed of at-risk youths, many of whom are from St. Christopher's Inc.  St. Christopher's Inc. was founded in 1881 to provide a nurturing learning environment that inspires individual, social and intellectual growth. The organization has four campuses, including one in Dobbs Ferry.  Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and visitors watched, participated and celebrated in the parade.

Panel guests State Rep. Bruce Morris, State Rep. Chris Perone and Associate Counsel at the state Department of Ethics and Republican party chairman Andy Conroy of Norwalk discussed the control of citizens versus "big money" in the election process.  The event was the assisted living community's second panel discussion to discuss topical issues of concern to the senior population.

Black Bear Spotted On Black Rock Road EASTON, Conn. -- A black bar was spotted in the Black Rock Road neighborhood of Easton on Wednesday evening, according to the Easton Courier.  Denise Lynch alerted Emlyn Duemmler by phone that a bear was at her front door before her dogs apparently scared the animal back into the woods, the Easton Courier reported. Eastchester Town Hall Hosts 'Eggstravaganza' EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Eastchester Parks and Recreation Department will hold an "Eggstravaganza" at the Town Hall lawn on Saturday, March 19.  Thousands of eggs will be scattered throughout the lawn for girls and boys up to 4th grade to find. Comedy Night Raises Funds For Pequenakonck Elementary's PTO NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Pequenakonck Elementary's PTO will hold a comedy night spring fundraiser at Vail's Grove Pavilion at Peach Lake on April 16. The BYOB fundraiser includes a buffet dinner by Triple B BBQ. Two comedians will perform starting at 8:30 p.m.  Tickets start at $50 for dinner and the show for one or $100 for one, with a ticket for a $10,000 raffle. Alzheimer's Association Offers Musical Social Programs DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter will begin offering its Music School Programs in Dutchess and Ulster counties this spring.  “This is my passion, working with people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. I am really excited to be expanding so much,” said Melinda Burgard, certified music therapist/New York State licensed creative arts therapist, who oversees the sessions. The programs are currently offered in Orange County and provide a safe, therapeutic place for participants with Alzheimer's and family caregivers to enjoy music and form new friendships.  …
