Tuition Hikes Proposed For Connecticut's Universities, Community Colleges BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Mark Ojakian, president of the Board of Regents and the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities system, is proposing hefty tuition hikes for the next academic year, according to Connecticut Post. Ojakian will propose a 5 percent increase to $10,089 for in-state tuition at regional universities and 3.5 percent increase to $4,173 for community colleges, Connecticut Post reported. Bethel Police Seek Suspect In Double Purse Theft At Park BETHEL, Conn. -- The Bethel Police Department is investigating the theft of two purses from vehicles at Meckauer Park.  Someone smashed the passenger window of two vehicles on Wednesday, March 23, around 3:25 p.m. A possible suspect was spotted in an older gray SUV with a Georgia license plate on the rear of the vehicle. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sgt. Heather Burnes at 203-744-7900. Residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked and with valuables out of sight. The Police Department also asks that suspicious incidents always be reported.
