SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Nancy's Book Group will discuss two books on author Robert Louis Stevenson at Scarsdale Public Library on Wednesday, March 23. Peekskill World War II Veteran Celebrates 98th Birthday
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Dan Moracarco, a World War II Air Force veteran, recently celebrated his 98th birthday at Community Home Health Care in Peekskill. “We wanted to celebrate this big occasion with Dan, so we decided to bring the party to him," said Brenda Schwartz, director of public relations for Community Home Health Care. Moracarco was born Feb. 28, 1918, in the Bronx and was stationed with the 8th Division in England from 1942-45. The scholarship is a one-time award of $500 given to a college-bound student exhibiting exceptional citizenship, integrity and service to the community.
