Mahopac Twirlers Heading To Junior Olympics MAHOPAC, N.Y. – The Mahopac School Twirlers held a successful bake sale Sunday at Red Mills Market to raise travel funds for their trip to the Junior Olympics in August.  Qualifying for the right to compete was a high point for the team under the direction of Cory Casey, who was a Mahopac Twirler, and who also attended the Junior Olympics. The 2015 Junior Olympics will be held July 29 through Aug. 8 in Hampton Roads region in Virginia.

Brewster Man, 47, Charged With DWI During Traffic Stop BREWSTER, N.Y. – A Brewster man was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated Friday during a traffic stop, according to the New York State Police. Domenico Dimezza, 47, was charged with DWI after police stopped him for speeding in Southeast. Dimezza was issued traffic tickets and ordered to appear in the Town of Southeast Court Thursday, July 9.

He emigrated from Germany for a 32-year career as a research physicist at IBM, and lived for five decades in Croton-on-Hudson Mader was from the small farming community of Wilhelmsdorf in the far south of Germany, where he was raised by his widowed mother through World War II. His father died less than two years after he was born July 26, 1929.
