$1.8M Awarded To Lower Hudson Valley To Fight Youth Substance Abuse
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) Drug-Free Communities Program awarded 15 grants totaling $1,823,461to Westchester and Rockland community coalitions that prevent and reduce youth substance abuse.
Three Drug-Free Communities (DFC) grants totaling $375,000 were new, 11 DFC grants totaling $1,373,461 were continuations and one new DFC-Mentoring (DFC-M) grant of $75,000 was awarded.

Putnam Sheriff Seeks Woman For Failure To Appear
PUTNAM, N.Y. – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department is seeking a woman wanted for failure to appear in Putnam County Court on Feb. 18, 2010.
Jocelyn Almonte, 33, is wanted for DWI. She is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighs approximately 168 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Almonte is known to frequent Danbury, Connecticut, and the Bronx in New York City, officials say.
Anyone with information as to Almonte’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department at (845)803-4357.
Josephine Donato, 77, Of Stamford
STAMFORD, Conn. – Josephine A. Donato ("Phine"), 77, of Stamford, died Friday, Sept. 4 of lung cancer.
She was born May 15, 1938, in Greenwich to Anna (Perri) Costaregni and John Cerone.
She attended Greenwich High School.
On Oct 10, 1959, she married Joseph Donato.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, working out at the Tully Center, trips to the casino and having coffee with her "Donut Delight" friends.
Her husband died in 1998.
She is survived by her daughters Debbie Gladstone (Dave), Ann Geter (Ralph) and Joanne Donato; seven grandchildren; and many cousins, …
