Enjoy Art, Music At Stamford Event Benefiting Multiple Sclerosis Society
STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford’s Harbor Point will host an evening of art with “Awake: A Collaborative Show” Thursday, Sept. 17 from 6 to 10 p.m. at 110 Harbor Point Road.
The show will benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society, with 50 percent of sales going directly to the MS Society.
It will feature work from artists John Freeman, Christa Forrest, Kathy Chattoraj, Ellen Gordon, Liz Squillace and Tucker Blandford, with live music from Christina Mae, Granata and DJ KOJO.
There is a suggested donation of $10.
Mildred Mary Holub, 94, Of Hastings-On-Hudson
HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Mildred Mary Holub, 94, a longtime resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, died Friday, Sept. 11 at Cabrini of Westchester.
Born in New York City to Frank and Rose Cudlin, she and her late husband, Russell Martin, married just prior to his deployment to the Pacific with the U.S. Navy during the WWII. Upon his return, she and Russell raised their two children in their family home in the village of Hastings-on-Hudson.
She became the backbone of her family after the untimely death of her husband in November of 1970, and returned to school and to nursing.

Franklin J. Leicht III, 90, Mamaroneck Resident, TV Executive
MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Franklin J. Leicht III, 90, of Mamaroneck, died Sunday, Sept. 13.
He was born Jan. 21, 1925, in Reading, Pa. His father, Franklin J. Leicht II, worked in a hat factory. His mother, Mabel, was an office assistant.
After graduating from high school, Leicht worked at various jobs. In 1943, he was called to service by the U.S. Army but was initially determined to be 4F as a result of his less-than-perfect eyesight. After this rejection, he enlisted and served in the infantry with the Occupation Army.

Teen Faces Charge Of Stealing From Yorktown Kmart
YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A Yorktown teenager was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 2, on a charge of stealing merchandise from Kmart, reports the Yorktown Police Department.
The 18-year-old, whose name is being withheld due to her eligibility for youthful offender status, allegedly stole merchandise totaling $21.44 over the course of two days from the store at 355 Downing Drive, officials say.
She was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, Oct. 1, according to the report.
