WILTON, Conn. – Josephine “Josie” Ursulina Hamm, 78, a longtime resident of Wilton, died Thursday, Oct. 22 at Autumn Lake of Norwalk.
Born in Switzerland on April 11, 1937, she was the daughter of Emma and Benedikt Florin.
She was an accomplished model who worked in Zurich, Milan, Paris and London. Her features brought her to the front page of magazines such as Elle and Annabelle.
When she met her husband, Richard Hamm, an airline pilot, she followed him to Connecticut, where she continued her career for top modeling agencies in New York City.

STAMFORD, Conn. – M. Pauline Whitehead, 86, of Stamford, died Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Stamford Hospital.
She was born in Darien on April 1, 1929, to Frederick and Stephanie Schriber. She was a radiology technician at Stamford Hospital for many years before her retirement. She was an avid UConn women's basketball fan as well as a season ticket holder to the New York Giants. She also loved to watch the New York Mets.

DARIEN, Conn. – James R. Hartzer, 77, a longtime resident of Darien and Norwalk, and most recently Wallingford, died Thursday, Oct. 22.
He was born Nov. 28, 1937, in Chicago, the son of the late Elsie and Emil Hartzer. He attended Taft High School in Chicago and received a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. He also earned a master’s degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Alonzo C. Kiser, 93, formerly of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the Chartwell Medical Center in Norwood, Mass.
He was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Matewan, W.Va., to Cleo and Ben Kiser. He was the oldest of 13 children. At 18, he moved to Bridgeport and met and soon married the love of his life, Emily V. Flewelyn, on Sept. 1, 1942 in Bridgeport.
