Philipstown Worker Killed After Being Pinned Servicing Forklift PHILIPSTOWN, N.Y. – A Philipstown man was killed Sunday after he became pinned under a forklift while performing maintenance on the truck, reports the Putnam County Sheriffi’s Department. Joseph Giachinta, 58, was performing maintenance on the forklift at his business, Mid-Hudson Concrete Products, located on Route 9 in Philipstown, when the hoist and jack system holding the forklift up fell, pinning Giachinta under the heavy piece of machinery. Man, 21, Charged With DWI After Hardscrabble Road Crash NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – A North Salem man was charged Monday with aggravated driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana and other vehicle and traffic offenses after a crash on Hardscrabble Road, according to the New York State Police. Deegan A. Feeney, 21, was found to be intoxicated after he was involved in a one-car collision, police said.
