Newtown Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault Of Student For Second Time A music teacher has been charged with alleged sexual assault of a minor student in Northern Fairfield County. Richard Neal, age 69, of Newtown, was charged on Thursday, Jan. 4 by the Newtown Police Department. According to Det. Lt. Liam Seabrook of the Newtown Police, Neal was arrested following an investigation into having an inappropriate relationship who was a minor at the time. Norwalk Man Busted In Wilton For Driving Recklessly In School Lot, Pursuit, Police Say A Fairfield County man was busted for allegedly driving recklessly through an elementary school parking lot and then taking police on a pursuit. Greenwich Man Nabbed For Endangering Child When Overdose Occurs, Police Say A Fairfield County man has been charged with alleged risk of injury to a child after an overdose occurred close to the youngster. Harris Grannick, age 45, of Greenwich, was charged on Tuesday, Dec. 2 in Greenwich for an incident that occurred in December 2023. According to Lt. Patrick Smyth of the Greenwich Police, Grannick was charged with risk of injury to a child and reckless endangerment after an overdose took place in an apartment with a child nearby. Police did not say if the overdose victim survived. He was released on a $50,000 bond.

The incident occurred in Norwalk on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at a residence on Coventry Place. According to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police, the elderly residents reported two men approached them outside of the home claiming to be from the city.  The men said they needed to go to the backyard to check property lines. Norwalk Woman Lights Car On Fire At Stamford Gas Station, Police Say A Fairfield County woman was charged with arson after allegedly setting gasoline that leaked out of her Nissan Cube on fire at a gas station and then walking away.  Paola Monsalve, age 28, of Norwalk was charged in Stamford on Sunday, Dec. 31 around 8:30 p.m. at the Shell station at the corner of Hope and Church streets.
