Woman Struck, Killed In Busy Bridgeport Crosswalk A woman died after being struck by a car in a busy Fairfield County crosswalk. She was walking in Bridgeport westbound on Washington Avenue around 8 a.m., Monday, Jan. 5, when she was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on Coleman Street. The woman, identified as 79-year-old Marilyn Jones, was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, where she died from her injuries, said Capt. Lonnie Blackwell of the Bridgeport Police. The incident occurred in Fairfield County around 3:50 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 7 on Haviland Drive in Trumbull. Traffic Alert: Lane Closure Set For Busy Hudson Valley Roadway For 2-Month Span Motorists will want to take note that one lane of a busy roadway in the Hudson Valley will be closed for sewer repairs over the span of two months. The closure will take place in Rockland County beginning Monday, Jan. 8 through Thursday, Feb. 29 in the town of Orangetown, said the state Department of Transportation. Motorists can expect the right lane to close along 303 northbound between Mountain View Road and Spruce Street, weather permitting, DOT officials said.  Drivers are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Orange County District Attorney David M.
