Woman Struck, Killed In Busy Bridgeport Crosswalk A woman died after being struck by a car in a busy Fairfield County crosswalk. She was walking in Bridgeport westbound on Washington Avenue around 8 a.m., Monday, Jan. 5, when she was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on Coleman Street. The woman, identified as 79-year-old Marilyn Jones, was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, where she died from her injuries, said Capt. Lonnie Blackwell of the Bridgeport Police.
