Bergen County Man, 49, Takes Fatal Leap From Bear Mountain Bridge In NY: Police This story has been updated. A 49-year-old has died after jumping from the Bear Mountain Bridge in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County around 7:50 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 in Stony Point, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police. An investigation revealed that the Englewood, New Jersey man drove to the bridge and walked up the south side where he jumped, Nevel said. Know Him? Man Wanted For Stealing Package Off Long Island Porch Police on Long Island are asking the public to identify a man who allegedly stole a package off the porch of a home. The incident took place in Centerreach around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9 on Eastwood Boulevard. The package, containing shoes, was quickly taken by a man who fled in a blue car, Suffolk County Police said. 2 Teens Arrested During Disturbances At CT High School Basketball Game Two teens were charged with breach of peace in separate incidents during a Connecticut high school basketball game. The altercations occurred in New Haven County on Wednesday, Jan. 10, in Waterbury at Wilby High School. During the game, officers intervened to address two separate disturbances that occurred between teens in attendance. Car Crashes Into Norwalk Store While a mannequin may have been injured, no others were reported when a car barrelled into the front of a Fairfield County clothing store. The crash took place in Norwalk around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 at 567 Main Ave. Police are on the scene investigating. Woman, 51, Killed In Single-Car CT Crash A woman was killed during a single-car crash after veering off the roadway and hitting a bridge abutment. The collision took place in New London County around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10 on Route 2 eastbound in Lebanon. Connecticut State Police said Rhode Island resident Danielle Helen Tessier, age 51, of Providence, was traveling eastbound on the highway when her 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio veered off the roadway near Exit 22 and struck a bridge abutment. Man Struck By Car In Bridgeport Seriously Injured, Police Say A man struck by a car while walking along a Fairfield County roadway was seriously injured. The crash occurred in Bridgeport around 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9 at the intersection of Beechmont Avenue and Springdale Street. According to Capt. Lonnie Blackwell of the Bridgeport Police, the unidentified man was struck by a 2011 gray Nissan Altima traveling southbound on Beechmont Avenue. 27-Year-Old Former HS Hockey Player In Hudson Valley Dies Suddenly On His 'Dream Trip' A former high school hockey player in the Hudson Valley who was a well-known videographer and environmental enthusiast died while on a "dream trip" to Chile to hike the Patagonia region of the Andes Mountains. Fatal Crash: 42-Year-Old ID'd As Victim On I-87 In Hudson Valley A 42-year-old man was killed during a crash between two tractor-trailers in the Hudson Valley. The collision occurred in Orange County around 12:10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10 on I-87 between Exit 17 in Newburgh and Exit 16 in Harriman. Hoboken Bartender Dies Suddenly On 'Dream Trip' To Chile A Hoboken restaurant is mourning the loss of one of its former bartenders who died on what loved ones say was a "dream trip" in Chile.
