Hudson Valley Man Nabbed For DWI After Almost Hitting Deputy Sheriff, Police Say State Troopers arrested a town of Hudson Valley man for allegedly driving while intoxicated after he almost struck a deputy sheriff who was assisting a disabled tractor-trailer at the time. The incident occurred in Orange County around 9:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 in Campbell Hall a hamlet of Hamptonburgh. Man Who Gave Fake Name, Nabbed In New Canaan For Driving Without License, Insurance A Fairfield County man was busted for allegedly giving police a fake name while he was driving without a license and insurance. Jorge Lopez, age 34, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 6, following a routine traffic stop in New Canaan. According to Lt. Marc DeFelice of the New Canaan Police, Lopez was stopped for having an unregistered vehicle. When talking with police he provided a fake name, which was discovered during a records check. 25-Year-Old CT Man Accused Of Murdering Associate A 25-year-old Connecticut man has been charged with allegedly strangling an associate to death. Litchfield County resident Brian Seholm, of Torrington, was charged on Thursday, Jan, 11, with the April 2023 death of Hartford County resident Dominick Francischelli, age 55, of Southington. During an investigation, the State Medical Examiner's Officer ruled that Francischelli died from compression of the neck and the manner of death as being homicide, said Det. Sgt. CT Woman Stopped For Traffic On I-95 Killed In 3-Vehicle Crash A 78-year-old Connecticut woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash on I-95. The collision took place on I-95 northbound just north of Exit 91 in New London County around 11:50 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 in Stonington. 19-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured In Single-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash A 19-year-old man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in the region. The collision occurred in Orange County around 7:40 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 on Route 17 in the town of Goshen, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police. Nevel said a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Chevy Traverse, driven by Queen County resident Andrew Joel Johnson, age 19, of Far Rockaway, was traveling west on Route 17 when for unknown reasons he lost control of the vehicle. School Bus Driver Seriously Injured In Hudson Valley Crash With Tractor-Trailer, Police Say The New York State Police are investigating a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a school bus in the Hudson Valley which seriously injured the driver. The incident took in Orange County around 8:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 12, in Wallkill on Route 211, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police. There were no children on the bus at the time of the crash. The operator of the school bus was extricated from and flown to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Young Girl In Fairfield For Several Years A 45-year-old Connecticut man has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl over several years in Fairfield County. New Haven County resident Jose Deleon-Castaneda, of Milford, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 10, said Lt. Edward Nook of the Fairfield Police Department.
