Rally To Protest Eversource Rate Hike Friday, July 31; Bill Relief Offered People are planning to protest an electricity rate hike today, Friday, July 31, outside the Eversource building in Berlin. The protest is slated for 2:30 p.m., Fox61 reported. Eversource said it is extending financial assistance and working with customers who are struggling with a rate increase that went into effect on July 1. The company says it has received thousands of customer calls this week regarding the higher bills. Look Familiar? Trailer For Liam Neeson Movie Shot In Worcester, Other Towns, Online Now The trailer for a major Hollywood movie shot in Worcester, “Honest Thief” starring Liam Neeson, is out now. The movie was shot in the city, though the story is set in Boston, in the fall of 2019. The film is set for release in early October. Worcester landmarks seen in the movie include outside the AC Hotel Marriott and Deadhorse hill on Main Street. Filmmakers also staged a car crash at Salisbury and Lancaster streets. Police ID Meriden Woman Killed In Head-On Crash An area woman was killed in a head-on crash in Wallingford. Karen Gabriel, 58, of Meriden, was driving on North Main Street Extension on Tuesday, July 28, at around 7:40 p.m. when her car was struck by another vehicle driving through the intersection with Route 68, police said. Gabriel was pronounced dead at the scene. The three passengers in Gabriel’s vehicle and the driver of the other car involved in the crash were transported to the hospital for treatment, police said. The matter is under investigation.

Body of Bridgeport Boy Found in Oxford Woods; Suspect Arrested The body of a missing Bridgeport boy has been found in Oxford. Jose Nunez, 14, of Bridgeport, has been missing since Tuesday, July 28. His body was discovered, dead, in a wooded area in Oxford off Wyant Road, said Bridgeport police. Dante Willoughby, 19, of Bridgeport, has been arrested in connection with Nunez’s death, police said. Springfield Teen Turns Himself In, To Face Holyoke Murder Charge A suspect in the fatal shooting in Holyoke on Wednesday, July 29, has been arrested. Arrest Made In Samurai Sword Attack That Left A Hartford Landlord Decapitated A man accused of decapitating his landlord with a samurai sword has been arrested and is being held on a $2 million bond. Jerry Thompson is being charged with killing his roommate and landlord Victor King in his Asylum Street house. Feds Bust Weed-Growing Ring In Rural Massachusetts - Seize More Than 4,000 Marijuana Plants Two Springfield men have been charged in federal court in connection with a major illegal marijuana growing operation that spanned five properties in a rural part of Massachusetts. Milford Industrial Complex Sold For $2.2 Million A major industrial complex was recently sold in Milford for $2.2 million. The 53,000-square-foot complex is on 6 acres at 252-262 Deport Road. It was purchased by MNBD, LLC. The principal owners of the company are Leah Aber, of West Haven, and Yisroel Teitlebaum, of Orange. MNBD is registered as a “lessor of nonresidential buildings” company. The property consists of three buildings and was purchased from Kahuna Realty Group. The seller had originally sought $2.9 million for the property. It was built in the late 1970s.
