Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Sea Isle Man Had No Idea Who Bob Kelly Was When He Punched Him: Report A 22-year-old man from Sea Isle City admitted punching Fox 29 traffic reporter Bob Kelly at a local bar, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Patrick Iannone, however, said in court on Monday, Dec. 4 that he had no idea who Kelly was when he went to the Oar House Pub in Sea Isle City already drunk on July 30, the Inquirer said. South Jersey Men Sentenced For Dealing Fentanyl: Prosecutor Two men from Galloway Township have been sentenced in connection with selling fentanyl, authorities said. Robert Gunter, 40, of was sentenced on Monday, Dec. 4 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison with four years of parole ineligibility after pleading guilty to possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Gang Member Gets Prison Time For Possessing Handgun In South Jersey: Prosecutor A 22-year-old man from Atlantic City was sentenced to seven years in New Jersey State Prison for possessing a loaded handgun and other crimes, authorities said. Altarik Hopkins was additionally sentenced on Monday, Dec. 4 for resisting arrest by flight and obstructing the administration of law, according to the Atlantic City Prosecutor's Office. Jersey Shore Man Admits Killing His Cat: Prosecutor A 29-year-old Howell Township man has admitted he intentionally killed his cat with a sharp instrument, authorities said. Christopher Sanchez pleaded guilty to charges of animal cruelty and simple assault on Monday, Dec. 4, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago. The assault charge stems from Sanchez attacking his roommate after killing the cat named Lilith, Santiago said. 19-Year-Old Driver Killed After Car Strikes Tree In South Jersey A 19-year-old man from Cumberland County was killed after his car veered off the roadway and struck a tree, authorities said. Jorge Soriano-Castelan, of Bridgeton, was driving south on Route 55 near Weymouth Road in Vineland at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, when the crash occurred, according to New Jersey State Police. Soriano-Castelan lost control of his Infinity and struck a tree, State Police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Juvenile Charged In Fatal Shooting In South Jersey: Prosecutor A juvenile has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Gloucester County resident, authorities said. Two other people were charged with related crimes, they said. Philadelphia Man Fired At Store Clerk In South Jersey: Prosecutor A 30-year-old man from Philadelphia has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a South Jersey convenience store, authorities said. Jevonte F. Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Hospitalizes NJ Woman: Police A 71-year-old woman from Hackettstown was hospitalized after getting exposed to high levels of carbon monoxide, authorities said. Man Hit Dog With Metal Pipe In South Jersey: Police A 44-year-old man from Atlantic City has been charged with animal cruelty after police found he struck his pit bull with a metal pipe, authorities said. Troy Hollis also was charged with weapons offenses and failing to provide veterinary care, according to Atlantic City police. South Jersey Man, 20, Wounded In Shooting: Police A 20-year-old Pleasantville man was wounded in a shooting in Atlantic City, authorities said. On Saturday, Dec. 2, at 4:40 p.m., Atlantic City police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 300 block of New York Avenue. Police found evidence of gunfire.
