A fiery crash involving an overturned car caused delays along the Garden State Parkway during evening rush hour Thursday, Oct. 5. It happened on the southbound side in Aberdeen near Exit 117, the state's DOT website shows. A New Jersey State Police spokesperson said the crash involved a BMW and Chevrolet both traveling south. The BMW lost directional control, collided with the Chevrolet, overturned and subsequently caught fire near milepost 119.6. A 25-year-old New Brunswick man who has been held in Middlesex County following a separate incident last month has been charged with attempted murder in a Somerset County shooting, authorities said. One Dead, Two Flown In 5-Car Crash On Lee Highway Culpeper Crash
Two people were flown to hospitals with serious injuries and one person died in a Culpeper County crash Wednesday, Oct. 4. Four westbound vehicles were stopped at a light at Lee Highway and Rixeyville Road — at Clevengers Corner — when a fifth vehicles was unable to stop and rear-ended one of the stopped vehicles around 6:10 p.m., Virginia State Police said. Husband Kills Wife In Virginia: Sheriff
A man killed his wife on Wednesday, Oct. 4 in Virginia, authorities said. Patsy C. Howard, 85, was found having suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body around 10:30 p.m. in a home on the 4000 block of Bonnie Brae Court in Spotsylvania, the county sheriff's office said. Patsy was pronounced dead at Mary Washington Hospital and her husband, David C. Howard, 85, was charged with second-degree murder and use of use of firearm in the commission of a felony.
