Man Shakes 'Caustic Substance' On Woman's Clothing During Argument In Prince William: Police A 41-year-old man is facing charges after police say he tried assaulting a woman with a caustic substance during an argument in Prince William County. Mohamed Koroma was arguing with the 64-year-old woman on the 16200 block of Taconic Circle in Dumfries Thursday, Jan. 4 around 1 p.m., when he shook a can of cleaning powder toward her, Prince William County police said. The substance got on the victim’s clothing and no injuries were reported. Koroma fled the scene before officers arrived, an arrest warrant for him was issued, authorities said. Tracking Weekend Snow, Mid-Week Rain Storms Both Heading Toward Northeast Parts of the region will be shoveling out of several inches of snow from the weekend when another strong storm system moves in, forecasters are saying. Double Allentown Murder Suspect Surrenders: Police Gabriel Cartagena, the 44-year-old man wanted in connection with a double homicide last month in Allentown, has surrendered, police announced. Cartagena turned himself in on Thursday, Jan. 4, after warrants for his arrest on two counts of criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and various weapons offenses were issued, Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca said. McDonald's Shooter Arrested In Alexandria: Officials A 20-year-old man has been arrested in a shooting last month at an Alexandria McDonald's, authorities said. City resident Michael Anthony Carr Jr., was charged with robbery, malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, police in Alexandria said. Dump Truck Overturns On Route 287 An overturned dump truck shut a portion of Route 287 in Morris County Thursday, Jan. 4, the state's DOT site shows. The Peterbilt dump truck was heading north when the driver lost control, ran off the roadway to the right, reentered the lane of travel and then overturned around 10:45 a.m. near milepost 40.8 in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. Fatal Crash: Jeep Hits Tow Truck Responding To 3-Car Collision On I-66 A Jeep driver who struck a tow truck responding to a three-car crash on I-66 caused a second three car crash and died in Fairfax County, authorities said.
