Punches, Car Crash: Would-Be Robber Attacks Man In Capital Region Neighborhood Police are investigating a late-night attempted robbery in the region that caused a minor car crash and left a man injured. The Rensselaer County incident happened just before midnight Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Troy’s Lansingburgh neighborhood, according to Troy Police. Long Island Man Admits Posing As Nypd Officer To Get Store Discounts Impersonating a cop to save a buck will land a Long Island man in prison for years. Eric Diaz, age 43, of Brentwood, pleaded guilty to a felony count in Suffolk County Court Wednesday, Oct. 11, after being caught with multiple fraudulent NYPD identification cards. According to prosecutors, Diaz posed as a cop on multiple occasions while visiting a retail store in Bay Shore between April and May 2023. Man's Stun Gun, Fire Death At NY Police Station Doesn't Warrant Criminal Charges, AG Says Three New York police officers are off the hook for criminal charges in the death of a man who caught fire after being hit with a stun gun. The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation (OSI) found that a prosecutor would not be able to prove that the three officers, all members of the Catskill Police Department in Greene County, committed a crime in the October 2021 death of Jason Jones.
