Christopher Pence, age 43, of Cedar City, Utah appeared in Albany federal court on Wednesday, Dec. 6, and pleaded guilty to using the internet to solicit and pay for murder. According to prosecutors, Pence admitted to contacting the administrator of a website dedicated to arranging contract killings in 2021. State Worker Admits Drugging, Sexually Abusing 15-Year-Old At Long Island Juvenile Facility A New York State employee has confessed to drugging and sexually abusing an underage girl at a juvenile detention center on Long Island. Ovzie Cannon, age 40, of Queens, pleaded guilty to rape and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Friday, Dec. 1. Full Closures Scheduled For Portion Of Sunrise Highway Scheduled highway closures could cause delays for Long Island drivers in the coming days. Both directions of Sunrise Highway are slated to close nightly at Ext 54 in Brookhaven for approximately five nights beginning Monday, Dec. 11, according to the Department of Transportation. The westbound lanes of State Route 27 will close at 10 p.m. and the eastbound lanes will be blocked at 11 p.m. During those times, traffic will be detoured on the Service Road. Report Of Stabbing At Elementary School In Capital Region Under Investigation Police are investigating reports of a stabbing at an elementary school in the region. Emergency crews in Albany were called to the Schuyler Achievement Center, located on Clinton Avenue, at around 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 for a person suffering from a stab wound in the nurse’s office. The Stony Brook University Hospital nurse and Medford resident was found with multiple stab wounds on the night of July 22, 2021 in a wooded area of Holtsville. Shoplifter Punches, Threatens To Stab Employee At Long Island Stop & Shop, Police Say Police are asking for help in identifying an alleged shoplifter accused of assaulting and threatening to stab an employee at a Long Island store. Tips Sought After Sheep Found Tied To Tree In Wooded Area On Long Island Police are investigating after a sheep was found tied to a tree behind a vacant home on Long Island. A land surveyor spotted the animal shortly after noon on Thursday, Dec. 7, in a wooded area in East Moriches, along Evergreen Avenue.
