'Angelica's Law' Honoring Late NY Teen Doles Stiffer Penalties For Repeat Reckless Drivers Angelica Nappi’s death won’t be in vain. The Long Island 14-year-old – who grew up in Holbrook and died at the hands of a reckless driver in February 2008 – was the inspiration behind “Angelica’s Law,” signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul this week. It decreases the number of prior license suspensions needed to qualify for first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony. Adrian MacDuff, of Albany, had last been seen at around 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, near the Neil Hellman School on Academy Road. Long Island Mother Admits Suffocating Twin Toddler Daughters: 'She Executed Them' A Long Island mother has admitted to suffocating her twin toddler daughters. Tenia Campbell, age 28, of Medford, pleaded guilty to two counts of murder in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Dec. 11 in connection with the girls’ killings in June 2019. Prosecutors said Campbell’s mother called 911 at around 2:40 p.m. on June 27, 2019, saying Campbell was driving around in the family van threatening to kill her daughters. Police are working to track down two burglars who smashed their way into a luxury boutique in the region before making off with tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise. Full Closures Scheduled For Portion Of Long Island Expressway Scheduled roadwork could spell delays for Long Island drivers in the coming days. Both directions of the Long Island Expressway are slated to close nightly at exit 48 in Huntington beginning Wednesday, Dec. 13 and lasting until Friday, Dec. 22. Inmate Assaults, Injures Corrections Officer At Capital Region Jail, Police Say A jail inmate in the region is accused of attacking a corrections officer, leaving them with injuries requiring medical attention. The incident happened Monday, Dec. 4, at the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in Ballston Spa. Sheriff’s officials said Godfrey Waldron, age 44, of Saratoga Springs, assaulted a corrections officer, injuring the officer’s face. The officer was treated at the scene before being taken to Malta Med Emergent Care for further treatment. Waldron was arraigned in Milton Town Court and was ordered held at the jail without bail.
