She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Unemployment Fraud: CT Woman Charged With $11K Theft A Connecticut woman has been arrested and charged with illegally collecting more than $11,000 in Unemployment Compensation benefits. New Haven County resident Adalis Rivera-Marin, age 33, of Ansonia, was arrested on Thursday, June 15 by inspectors from the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney, and charged with one count each of unemployment compensation fraud and larceny by defrauding a public community. Carjacking: Victim Forced To Drive By Masked Man, Then Shot In Norwalk, Police Say Police are investigating after a victim was carjacked at gunpoint by a masked man and then shot in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Norwalk around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, June 19 in the area of 580 Main Ave. According to Lt. Joe Dinho, of the Norwalk Police, during the incident, the person was shot in the leg and the suspect fled the area in the stolen vehicle. Drug Seizure: Hudson Valley Man Charged With Possession Of Fentanyl, Cocaine A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after being busted with alleged cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs during a search of an area motel room. Missing Diver: Friends Continue Search For Former CT Police Officer In Bahamas Friends and family members of a former Connecticut police officer are continuing their search for the missing man who disappeared while free-diving in the Bahamas. To help fund the mission for Hartford County resident Ryan Proulx, age 31, of East Hartford, the group has started a GoFundMe in an effort to raise enough money to keep the mission going now that the US Coast Guard has called off the search. Long Island Man Accused Of Trying To Break Into Motel Office Police have arrested a Long Island man for alleged attempted burglary at a motel. The incident took place in Nassau County at the Edgewood Motel around 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 20 in Jericho. Sexual Comments To Child: Man From Hudson Valley Charged A man from the region has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after allegedly making inappropriate sexual comments. Ulster County resident Daryl C. Scheringer, age 73, of Wawarsing, was charged on Saturday, June 17 in the town of Napanoch. Failed Bank Robber Nabbed In Hudson Valley, Police Say A Hudson Valley 26-year-old man has been charged with attempted robbery in an unsuccessful attempt to hold up a Chase Bank. Dutchess County resident Daimion Lowe, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested on Saturday, June 17 at his home, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. Fatal Fire: 2 Escape Jail After Blaze Claiming Lives Of Hudson Valley Firefighter, Other Man Two rabbis who pleaded guilty to a fatal fire at an adult home in the Hudson Valley have escaped jail time through a plea deal. Rockland County residents Nathaniel Sommer, age 72, of Monsey, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, June 20 to two counts of second-degree manslaughter and is expected to be sentenced to five years probation, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E.
