37-Year-Old Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train In New Haven
A 37-year-old man was struck and killed by a train in New Haven.
The man was found dead around 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, along the tracks behind the New Haven Fire Department's training academy on Ella T. Grasso Blvd., said Aaron Donovan, a spokesman for the MTA.
An investigation determined that the man -- identified as Hispanic -- was struck at approximately 6:15 p.m. by Amtrak Train No. 140, which is the 12:25 p.m. departure from Washington, D.C., scheduled to arrive at Springfield, Massachusetts, at 8:03 p.m., Donovan said.

Woman Sideswipes Ambulance In Elmont, Flees Scene, Police Say
A 33-year-old woman has been charged with DWI after allegedly sideswiping a police ambulance and then leaving the scene.
The incident took place in Elmont around 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12 on Elmont Road.
Zeena Loor, age 33, of Queens, was driving a 2020 BMW X3, sideswiped the driver's side of a Nassau County Police ambulance causing damage to the vehicle, said the Nassau County Police.
Loor then left the scene. Nassau County police located her on Elmont Road and pulled her over, police said.

Man Charged With Sex Abuse Of Minor In Region, State Police Say
New York State Police are asking any possible victims of a man who was charged with alleged sex abuse in the region to come forward.
Orange County resident James A. Grant, age 73, of Pine Bush, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 8, for sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
State police were notified on Friday, Jan. 27 that Grant touched a minor in an inappropriate manner. An investigation revealed that on Tuesday, Jan. 24, he inappropriately touched a minor under the age of 11, Nevel said.

26-Year-Old Arraigned In Shooting Death Of Another Hudson Valley Man
A Hudson Valley man has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of an area man last year.
Dutchess County resident Devin Taylor, age 26, of Poughkeepsie, was arraigned on Wednesday, Feb. 1 in connection with the Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, death of Darren Villani.
Villani, age 28, of Poughkeepsie, was found after officers responded to 911 calls reporting a shooting on Mansion Street, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark of the city of Poughkeepsie Police.
