Duo Nabbed For 2020 Murder Of Hudson Valley Man
Two Hudson Valley men have been charged with second-degree murder for their part in the death of an area man.
On Monday, March 2, 2020, the body of 64-year-old Paul Thompson was found in his apartment at 399 Main Street; his death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner's office, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark.
On Sunday, Feb. 12, two City of Poughkeepsie men were charged for their part in Thompson's death including Consuelo Leonard, age 45, and Rodarius Smith, age 35, Clark said.
Both were arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

HS Athlete Who Died After Falling Through Ice In Hudson Valley Remembered For 'Amazing Smile'
A teen who died after falling through the ice at a park in the Hudson Valley is being remembered for his "amazing smile," and " infectious laughter."
Dutchess County resident Noah Michael Thompson, age 17, of Amenia, died Friday, Feb. 10, at Sharon Hospital in Litchfield County, Connecticut, after falling through the ice at the Taconic State Park in the village of Millerton, located in the Town of North East.
Noah was a high school student at Webutuck High School in Amenia and was expecting to graduate this spring, according to his obituary.

Drunk Driver Hits Popular Hudson Valley Ice Cream Shop, Police Say
A popular Hudson Valley ice cream shop is temporarily closed after an alleged drunk driver crashed his Infiniti Q70 into the building.
The incident took place in Orange County around 4:55 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Mary Janes Dairy Bar in the town of Newburgh.
When the town of Newburgh Police officers arrived on the scene they found a 2015 Infiniti Q70 had crashed into the building on the south side, going through the wall and coming to rest in the building, said Lt. Peter Talarico, of the Newburgh Police.
