Gudmundur Thor Kjaernested, age 18, of Greenwich, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 26 after police responded to a home for a disturbance. According to Capt. Airborne Car Crashes Into Hudson Valley Home, Police Say An out-of-control car that went airborne after hitting an embankment struck a home in the region. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 on Route 9G in the town of Red Hook. According to Red Hook Police, the crash took place when a 2002 Subaru driven by a 41-year-old Catskills man was driving south on Walkers Hill Road when the car crossed into the northbound lane, struck an embankment, became airborne, and hit the home. Hayes of Poughkeepsie, age 82,  had been battling lymphocytic leukemia for three years. Hayes, who died on Saturday, Jan. 27, was a man of deep faith, hard work, great sacrifice, profound wisdom, remarkable accomplishments, and the highest character, his obituary said.
