Norwalk 20-Year-Old Nabbed For Racing BMW On I-95, Police Say A Fairfield County man driving a blue 2016 BMW was charged with racing another BMW after he allegedly fled from police when they attempted to stop the duo. Man From Region Wanted For Failure To Pay Child Support, Charged With Food Stamp Fraud A man from the region wanted for failing to pay child support was also charged for allegedly collecting $1,000 in food stamps he wasn't entitled to. Sullivan County resident Keith Nash, age 31, of South Fallsburg was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 15 by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office on a family court child support warrant. According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, Nash owed $1,200 in support payments. He was also wanted on a felony warrant for grand larceny for allegedly collecting $1,152 in food stamps that he was not entitled to.  Nash was arraigned in the Town of L…

Body Found In Redding On Route 53 Connecticut State Police are investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area of a roadway in Fairfield County. The incident happened in Redding on Route 53 also known as Glen Road on Sunday, Feb. 18. According to Connecticut State Police, the department is actively investigating the find and working to identify the body. Redding Police say there is no threat to the public. 4 Injured In Hudson Valley 2-Vehicle Crash Four people were injured during a serious two-vehicle crash in the region. The collision took place in Dutchess County on Route 9G at the intersection of North Cross Road in the town of Hyde Park around 10 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 18.  According to the Roosevelt Fire District Chief Jeffrey Scala, firefighters and EMS responded to the crash with reports of ejections and people trapped in vehicles. 2 Shot, 1 Stabbed Near Hudson Valley Bar Two people were shot and one was stabbed outside of a popular Hudson Valley bar. The incident occurred in Orange County around 4 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 18 in the vicinity of Whispers Cocktail Lounge in the town of Wallkill. According to Wallkill Deputy Chief of Police Antonino Spano, all three victims went to Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown. New Canaan Man Charged With Cruelty To Animals A Fairfield County man was charged with alleged animal cruelty after he was stopped by police on a warrant. Jack Hawkins, age 47, of New Canaan, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 7 on New Norwalk Road in New Canaan. According to Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police, Hawkins was stopped for an active warrant in association with an animal call in January. Lost Hikers Rescued By Forest Rangers In Hudson Valley Two lost hikers in the region were guided to safety by forest rangers as darkness set in the region.
