Free Covid-19 Testing In Worcester, Friday, Aug. 14 Free COVID-19 testing is being offered in Worcester, Friday, Aug. 14, noon to 6 p.m. The testing will be done at Worcester City Hall Common, 455 Main St. In addition to the free testing, free cloth masks and hand sanitizer will be passed out. Fresh produce boxes will be provided to the first 75 people who get tested. There’s also a $25 gift card raffle. People with insurance cards will also be able to get the flu vaccine during this time. The event is being sponsored by the City of Worcester and UMass Memorial Healthcare COVID-19 Equity Tak Force.

Seven People Are Without A Home Following Springfield Fire An Ames Street structure fire in Springfield has left seven people with nowhere to live. The Wednesday, Aug. 12, fire at 36 Ames St., is being investigated by the Springfield Arson And Bomb Squad, the Springfield Fire Department said. The people who lost their home were a family, WesternMass News reported: a mother, father, and five children. The family’s five pets were able to make it out of the house. The mother said electrical work was being done to the home around the time of the fire. The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
