A body found in a Pennsylvania river is that of a man reported missing, according to WNEP citing the coroner's office.
Moosic police shut down Minooka Avenue after a passerby walking along the river spotted the body in the Lackawanna River near the intersection of Minooka Avenue just before 11 a.m. Tuesday, Apr.5, and Lackawanna Avenue, WNEP reports citing Moosic police.
Thomas Yerrick, 70, of Scranton, has been identified as the missing man as of Tuesday evening, according to the Lackawanna County coroner's office.

Escaped Federal Prisoner Nabbed In Region
Police in the region, along with members of the US Marshal Service arrested an escaped prisoner who had been granted a furlough to attend a funeral.
Jason “Critter” Lajoie, age 45, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 27, said Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police in Sullivan County.
According to Johnstone, Lajoie who was being held in federal custody on weapons and drug offenses had been granted a furlough in order to attend a funeral in Rhode Island.
On Sunday, Oct. 24, Lajoie escaped from a transport vehicle on I-84 in Pike County, Pennsylvania.

FBI: Four From NJ, NY, PA Charged With Kidnapping Man, Demanding $100,000 Ransom
A group of men from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York kidnapped a man on a Camden street, beat him and held him captive while trying to extort a $100,000 ransom from his family, federal authorities charged.
The victim was grabbed from behind last Thursday night by his abductors, who “covered his head, bound him with plastic restraints, assaulted him and put him into a vehicle,” Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.
