Truck Carrying Mayonnaise Catches Fire On Route 80 A truck carrying pallets of mayonnaise burst into flames on Route 80 in Hackensack Thursday afternoon, June 5, shutting down part of the highway, authorities said. The Hackensack Fire Department responded to the fire at 12:15 p.m. in the eastbound local lanes near mile-marker 64, according to Captain Kurt Nemeczek, public information officer. Engines E2, E1, R1, and Deputy 3 arrived and quickly knocked down the flames, which were contained to the tractor portion of the truck. No injuries were reported.
