Truck Carrying Mayonnaise Catches Fire On Route 80
A truck carrying pallets of mayonnaise burst into flames on Route 80 in Hackensack Thursday afternoon, June 5, shutting down part of the highway, authorities said. The Hackensack Fire Department responded to the fire at 12:15 p.m. in the eastbound local lanes near mile-marker 64, according to Captain Kurt Nemeczek, public information officer. Engines E2, E1, R1, and Deputy 3 arrived and quickly knocked down the flames, which were contained to the tractor portion of the truck. No injuries were reported. $25M Sale Will Transform REI Lot In Paramus Into Multi-Family Apartment Complex
A $25 million real estate deal will bring more than 400 apartments to a site next to Bergen Town Center in Paramus, officials said. JLL Capital Markets announced the sale of the Bergen Town Center Land Site, where a 426-unit multifamily complex will be developed along Forest Avenue near Route 4. The buyer was a joint venture between Russo Development, LLC and KRE Group. The site was sold by Urban Edge Properties, JLL said in the release. Authorities have revealed that one of two investigations under way in Howell Thursday, June 5 is a death investigation. A man's body was discovered around 6:41 a.m. near the 170 block of White Street, according to a joint statement from Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S.
