Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Man Killed After Cars Strikes Trailer At Home Depot In Central Jersey A 55-year-old man from Middlesex County was killed when his car collided with a trailer parked at Home Depot, authorities said. On Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at about 10:20 a.m., Old Bridge police responded to the Home Depot located on Route 9 South following a report of a crash.  Police found a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu which had collided with a parked trailer.  The Chevy Malibu was driven by Allen Szcus, of Kendall Park, police said.  Szcus, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. On Saturday, Jan. 27, a Haddonfield resident observed their dogs with a skunk in their yard. The Animal Control Officer for Haddonfield picked up the skunk and arranged for rabies testing.
