Garbage Truck Smashes Pole, Knocks Out Power In Dauphin County (Developing) A garbage truck smashed into a utility pole, knocking out power and traffic lights along Eisenhower Boulevard in Swatara Township on Friday morning, April 4, authorities said. The crash happened between Lindle Road and Highland Street around 8:30 a.m., according to the emergency dispatch. PPL reported a power outage impacting local customers, with service expected to be restored by noon. A traffic signal was also disabled, causing traffic slowdowns in the area, dispatchers said. No injuries have been confirmed. The Swatara Township Police Department is handling the investigation.
