Florida Motorcyclist Crosses Double Yellow Line, Dies On Group Ride In Virginia: Cops, Friends
A 65-year-old Florida man died in a Loudoun County motorcycle crash. Jorge Seminario crossed a double yellow line and was trying to pass multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed when the driver of a van made a left turn into a driveway on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 3:25 p.m., the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said. The motorcyclist struck the left front side quarter panel of the van in the 19200 block of Harmony Church Road in Hamilton. Seminario was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A 31-year-old woman has been arrested for slashing a loss prevention officer before stealing items from Macy's in Manassas, police said. Valerie Rene Polovitch, of Manassas, was spotted taking items from shelves and placing them into a bag, then walking toward the exit on Aug. 25, at the Manassas Mall, county police said. Before she left the store, Polovitch pulled out a knife and cut the loss prevention officer who confronted her, police said. She fled in a waiting brown Chrysler Pacifica. A New Jersey State Police trooper suffered a minor injury when a tractor trailer rammed four troop cars along Route 78 Wednesday, Oct. 11, authorities said. The Volvo tractor-trailer was heading east when it collided with an Isuzu box truck around 1:50 p.m. near milepost 15.4 in Union Township (Hunterdon County), NJSP Detective I Jeffrey Lebron said. A SWAT team in Fairfax County has arrested a gunman who they say was shooting into occupied homes. Sangram Singh Grewal, 26, of Herndon, shot at the back of three townhomes on the 13000 block of Ashnut Lane in Hattontown, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, county police said. Tractor Trailer Driver Hauling Several Hundred Bags Of Concrete Dies On I-95
The driver of a tractor trailer hauling several hundred bags of concrete suffered a medical episode and died on Interstate 95 in Virginia, authorities said. The vehicle was heading north on Wednesday, Oct. 11 when the driver began suffering a medical emergency, causing him to run off the road in Stafford County near mile post 146, Virginia State Police said.
