$15M Project Will Replace 60-Year-Old Bridge In Arlington, Public Urged To Weigh In The public is being urged to weigh in on a $15 million project planned to replace a 60-year-old bridge in Arlington. The North Old Glebe Road bridge over North Glebe Road (Route 120) was built in 1964 and today, averages 7,000 vehicles a day, the VDOT said. Rehabilitating the bridge would cost 9.75 million, and so, the county has opted to fully replace it. The new bridge will feature a wider sidewalk on the eastern side and an additional sidewalk on the western side. Residents are invited to provide their input through Nov. 1, beginning with a virtual meeting set for Wednesday, Oct. …

Speed, Impairment Factors In Crash That Killed 22-Year-Old Driver In Manassas: Cops Police have identified the 22-year-old driver killed in a weekend Prince William County crash. Tommy Alexys Alvarado heading north on Lake Jackson Drive in Manassas at a high rate of speed in a 2005 Honda Civic when he lost control and left the roadway just before 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, county police said. Alvarado's vehicle struck a tree at Blandsford Drive and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No other occupants were in the vehicle. Tractor Trailer Crashes On I-81 In Shenandoah County A tractor trailer crashed on I-81 Monday, Oct. 16 in Shenandoah County. It happened on the northbound side at mile post 273.6 around 9:25 a.m., just past the Rt. 292 intersection, the VDOT website says. The north right lane and right shoulder were closed. Head-On Gloucester County Crash Injures Four: Police Four people were injured including three seriously in a crash on Black Horse Pike in Gloucester County, police said. It happened around 1050 p.m. near the Luna Rose Lamberti restaurant, Washington Township police said. Police said only that the head-on crash involved a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck and a Nissan Altima. The occupants of the Chevy were taken to Cooper Hospital with serious injuries, while the Nissan driver suffered minor injuries. Witnesses are urged to contact Washington Township Police Officer Nick Rojs at nrojs@pd.twp.washington.nj.us.
