15-Year-Old CT Boy Gunned Down In Broad Daylight, Police Say A 15-year-old Connecticut boy was reportedly killed during a drive-by shooting in broad daylight. Hartford County resident Jordan Luna, of Hartford, was killed around 1:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9, in the area of Nelton Way. Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police said Luna was found when officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification in the area. When officers arrived, they found Luna shot, Boisvert said. Powerball Ticket Purchased In Hudson Valley Worth $150K While a lucky winner in the Hudson Valley might not have walked away with millions in the Powerball game, they did earn a pocketful of cash by winning third prize in the Saturday, Oct. 7 drawing. CT Resident Shot At Confronting Car Thief In Broad Daylight, Police Say A Connecticut homeowner attempting to stop a man from stealing his Audi out of his driveway was shot at by the suspects, police said. The incident took place in New Haven County in North Branford around 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 8 in the Northford section of town. Person Struck, Killed By Train In Ossining One person was killed after "coming in contact" with a train in Northern Westchester. The incident occurred in Ossining, around 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, according to Jen Flanagan, spokesperson for Amtrak. Flanagan said the person, who has not yet been identified, was trespassing on the track in the area of Metro North MP 31 on the Hudson Line. There were no reported injuries to the 97 passengers or crew members onboard the train. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department is the lead agency. New Update: President Of Stamford Church Athletic Club Steals $150K, Police Say The president of a Fairfield County church athletic club turned herself in to the police for allegedly embezzling more than $150,000 from the organization. Daria Opolski, age 42, of Norwalk, was arrested by the Stamford Police Financial Crimes Unit on Tuesday, Oct. 3. According to Capt. Thomas Scanlon, of the Stamford Police, an investigation revealed that from July 2021 through Dec. 2022, Opolski misallocated $157,508 from the Holy Name Athletic Club's bank account by authorizing transfers from the account to pay her personal bills. 4 Nabbed With Drugs, Guns After Fight At Norwalk Bar, Police Say Four people were charged with drugs and firearms crimes following a fight at a popular Fairfield County bar. CT Man Sexually Assaults, Robs Woman, 65, On Walking Trail, Police Say A Connecticut man is in custody after allegedly throwing a 65-year-old woman down on a hiking trail sexually assaulting her and taking her purse and cell phone before the victim was able to fight him off.
