Street Turns To River After 107-Year-Old Water Main Ruptures In Capital Region (Developing) Crews are responding to a “substantial” water main break in the region that has inundated a residential neighborhood with a torrent of flood water. The Rensselaer County incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 in Troy’s Lansingburgh neighborhood, near 7th Avenue and 124th Street. Animal Cruelty: Dog Dies After Being Left In Crate Nearly Week By Long Island Woman, Police Say A Long Island woman is facing animal cruelty charges after her dog died several days after it was reportedly abandoned. Kiswanda Franklin, age 33, of Huntington Station, was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 13, according to Suffolk County Police. Investigators said Franklin left her three-pound Yorkshire Terrier-Maltese mix in a crate inside her East Pulaski Road apartment for six days beginning on Friday, July 14. Drunk Driver Busted With LSD During Traffic Stop In Capital Region, Police Say A 36-year-old man is facing driving while intoxicated charges after allegedly being caught drunk behind the wheel with illegal drugs in the car, police said. The upstate New York incident happened Thursday evening, Aug. 31, in Warren County, on Route 9 in Lake George, according to state police.
