Capital Region Restaurant Closes Due To Health Concerns A family-owned Italian restaurant and pub in the region is closing after less than a year in business. Albany County eatery Joe’s Township Tavern, located in Knox at 1412 Township Road, closed on Saturday, Sept. 30, the company announced on Facebook. Teen Racers Hit 100+ MPH Before Crash In Capital Region, Police Say: 'Incredibly Lucky' Two 18-year-olds are facing charges following an alleged street race in the region that reached speeds over 100 miles per hour before one of the cars crashed. The Rensselaer County incident happened at around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, in North Greenbush. Whole Foods Employee Assaults, Drags Person Outside Darien Store, Police Say A Whole Foods employee in Connecticut has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a person outside the store. The Fairfield County incident happened in July 2023 in Darien, at the Whole Foods store located on Ledge Road. According to Darien Police, the victim met 42-year-old Eric Brand in the store’s parking lot on Sunday, July 2, and asked him for money. The two got into an argument that turned physical, police said. That’s when Brand allegedly assaulted the victim and then dragged them along the ground. Baldwin Man Forced Women Into Sex Trafficking Ring, Bribed Addicts With Drugs, Feds Say Two Long Island men are facing federal charges for allegedly running sex trafficking rings. Lamont Young, age 41, of Hauppauge, and Michail McKen, age 35, of Baldwin are named in separate indictments that were unsealed in federal court in Central Islip Wednesday, Sept. 27. Capital Region Man Caught With Stolen RV From Dealership, Police Say A man from the region is facing charges after police linked him to a stolen RV that was taken from a local dealership. Saratoga County resident Andrew Castle, age 50, of Mechanicville, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 26, by New York State Police. According to troopers, the agency was first contacted on Friday, Aug. 25, about an RV that was missing from a Clifton Park dealership. The vehicle, valued at over $50,000, was later found in Schaghticoke in Rensselaer County. Investigators determined that Castle was in possession of it. Child Porn: Capital Region Man Caught With Hundreds Of Illicit Images Gets Federal Prison A 38-year-old man from the region will spend years in federal prison for possessing child pornography. Daniel Quintero, of Schenectady, was sentenced to six years behind bars in federal court in Albany Tuesday, Sept. 26. It came after he admitted to downloading hundreds of videos and images depicting child sex abuse between May 2019 and March 2022.
