Charles Carter, age 34, of Amityville, appeared in US District Court in Central Islip on Monday, Nov. 13, where he pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute over 40 grams of fentanyl. The potent, synthetic opioid drug is 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). ID Released For Victim Killed In Early-Morning Shooting Outside Capital Region Home Authorities have identified a man who was killed in an early-morning shooting outside a home in the region. The incident happened at around 3 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Albany’s West Hill neighborhood, on Judson Street near First Street.
