‘I Got The Good Stuff’: Long Island Dealer Admits Selling Fentanyl Causing 2 Overdose Deaths A Long Island drug dealer could spend decades in federal prison for selling fentanyl that contributed to two overdose deaths. Charles Carter, age 34, of Amityville, appeared in US District Court in Central Islip on Monday, Nov. 13, where he pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute over 40 grams of fentanyl. The potent, synthetic opioid drug is 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). ID Released For Victim Killed In Early-Morning Shooting Outside Capital Region Home Authorities have identified a man who was killed in an early-morning shooting outside a home in the region. The incident happened at around 3 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Albany’s West Hill neighborhood, on Judson Street near First Street. Deadly Weekend: 2 Men Killed In Separate Crashes On Capital Region Roadways Two men are dead following separate crashes involving pedestrians in the region. The first incident happened in Albany County just before midnight Saturday, Nov. 11, in Colonie on Central Avenue. Violent Crime Down Across NY Compared To Last Year, New Report Shows New York state is seeing fewer incidents of violent crime, according to a new report. Data from the first comprehensive overview of crime trends across the state showed a six-percent drop in violent crime outside of New York City during the first half of 2023 compared to the first six months of 2022, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday, Nov. 9. $35K Winning Lottery Ticket Sold At Capital Region Convenience Store A winning lottery ticket worth over $30,000 was sold at a convenience store in the region. The top-prize-winning TAKE 5 ticket, worth $35,415, was sold in Albany County at the Stewart’s Shops in Watervliet, located at 186 Troy Schenectady Road. It was sold for the evening drawing held Tuesday, Nov. 9, New York Lottery announced. TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39.
