The crash occurred on Elm Street near its intersection with Stag Lane, Monroe police said. Both drivers were taken to Bridgeport Hospital where they were treated for unspecified injuries, police said. One of the drivers was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way, police said. Croton Fire Official Helps Rescue Ailing Woman After Crash CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A Croton fire official who came upon a car accident in Cortlandt Manor on Monday helped rescue a passenger who was having chest pains. The deputy chief called for help from the fire department and emergency medical services. The car had been hit by a trailer that was being pulled by a dump truck on Quaker Bridge Road East, according to the fire department’s Facebook post. The unidentified woman was taken to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. The road was reopened after the damaged car was towed away, the post said.

Matthew Rotjan, who teaches at both the South Orangetown Middle School and Cottage Lane Elementary School, had been named as a quarterfinalist in the contest for the 2017 Music Educator Award. More than 3,300 teachers were nominated for the award, but only 290 educators, representing 264 cities, made it to the quarterfinals. Participating in the event were members of the Ramapo Police Department, the Sloatsburg Fire Department, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and the Sloatsburg Ambulance Corps. N.J. Man Charged With DWI In Upper Grandview Crash UPPER GRANDVIEW, N.Y. -- A New Jersey man is facing charges of driving while intoxicated after he crashed his car in Upper Grandview this past Sunday, police said. Bruce Buchanan, 53, of Tenafly, was driving on Route 9W when his car hit a guardrail, flipped, and landed on its roof, Orangetown police said. The accident occurred around 3:40 a.m. Buchanan was also charged with numerous traffic violations, police said. He is due in Orangetown Court on July 6. Police did not say if Buchanan was injured in the crash.

Max Tassy, 26, was spotted by an Orangetown officer in a parking lot in the village last Friday.  Tassy was wanted on a warrant from the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Court in Bergen County, police said. The warrant accused Tassy of impersonation, theft of identity, use of personal identifying information of another, falsifying or tampering with records, and hindering prosecution.
