Ruth Leyton, 65, Yorktown Heights Resident
YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Ruth Leyton of Yorktown Heights died Thursday, Feb. 11. She was 65.
She was born Oct. 26, 1950, in Chile to the late Nelly and Ramon Leyton.
She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Munoz Hogan, and her beloved cat. She was an avid animal lover and loved to cook.
To honor her life, family and friends will gather at her home Sunday, March 13, from noon-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Humane Society.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – David L. Weddell of Fairfield died Monday, Feb. 8, in Rockport, Maine, due to complications following surgery. He was 68.
Born in Philadelphia, on March 16, 1947, Weddell and his family moved many times throughout his childhood. He attended the Museum School in Boston as a teenager. He later became the owner and operator of Franklin Auto and Cycle in Franklin, N.H., before entering the financial advisory business with his father and brother-in-law nearly 20 years ago. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Patricia Janvrin Morgan, of Bridgeport, died Monday, March 7 at Connecticut Hospice in Griffin Hospital. She was 86.
She was the daughter of William and Phyllis Samuelson, born April 13, 1929.
She is survived by three sons, D Lee (Susan) of California, Roger (Eileen) of Connecticut, and William of Michigan; her sister, Carol (Tom) of Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Jamie and Jay; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Per her request, there will be no calling hours and services will be for immediate family only.
Emily L. Gannon, 94, Formerly Of Spring Valley
GOSHEN, N.Y. – Emily L. Gannon, a former Spring Valley resident, died on Sunday, March 6. She was 94.
She lived in Spring Valley for most of her life before moving to Goshen in 1983.
Her husband, Seth, died in 1998.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Gannon, of Warwick; her son, Warren S. Gannon, of Washingtonville; and four grandchildren.
A wake will be held on Wednesday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc., Nyack.
A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Brick Church Cemetery in New Hempstead.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Urban F. Silva, of Bridgeport, died Thursday, March 3. He was 72.
Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Urban and Delinda (August) Silva and was a lifelong Bridgeport resident.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a butcher for many years as well as a computer technician in his later years.

Fairfield Museum Receives Grants For Exhibition, Education
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield Museum received two grants totaling more than $25,000 from Connecticut Humanities to support an upcoming exhibition and the planning of educational endeavors on the historic Town Green.
Connecticut Humanities awarded the first grant, totaling $4,999, to fund the design and fabrication costs of the upcoming exhibition, “Fabulous Animals! FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Joyce Bernstein Coscia, wife of the late Francis J. Coscia, died Monday, Feb. 29 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield. She was 87.
Born March 4, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Max Bernstein and Laura Gorman Bernstein. She was raised in Brooklyn, New York. John Kaiko, 98, Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. – John R. Kaiko, of Stamford, died Friday, March 4. He was 98.
He was born in Griswold on Dec. 30, 1917, to Alexander Kaiko, Sr., and Katherine (Stigo) Kaiko, who emigrated from Poland and settled in southeastern Connecticut. He grew up on his family's farm near Pachaug. He started school in Griswold, and at the age of 14, was forced to leave school due to osteomyelitis. At 17, he went back to school, though he was again forced to give up his studies to help on the farm.
