Of the 9,839 distance-learning students in the Hartford School District, 978 of them didn’t log in for school the week of Sept. 21, according to the CT Mirror, which has developed a weekly town-by-town look at distance-learning attendance records. Double Fatal Car Accident On Route 185; Police ID Victim Police are investigating a double fatal car crash on Route 185. The accident happened on Tuesday, Oct. 6 in Simsbury near Summit Ridge and Princess Lane, police said. The crash involved three vehicles and two of the three operators died from their injuries, police said. The third driver sustained minor injuries. Police have identified Susan Scotti, of Granby, Connecticut, as one of the people who died. The other fatal is still under investigation. Samita Malik, 39, of Milford, was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 4, at around 4:40 a.m. on the charges of disorderly conduct, assault on an elderly person, strangulation, and criminal mischief, police said. Student Who Allegedly Threw Bodily Fluids At Staff Is Arrested A student at a school for at-risk youths has been arrested after throwing bodily fluids at a staff member. Quinn McPherson, 18, a resident of the Boys and Girls Village on Wheelers Farms Road in Milford, was arrested on Friday, Oct. 2, at around 11:20 a.m. on the charges of breach of peace, and assault, police said. Milford Police said they were called to Boys and Girls Village for a report of a suspicious incident. Upon investigation, police said McPherson allegedly threw semen on a staff member.

Police ID Bicyclist Killed In Fatal Truck Collision Police have identified the bicyclist who was killed after being hit by a car on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Yale University law student Keon Ho Lim, 25, of Medford, Massachusetts, was struck by a truck while riding a bicycle in the area of South Frontage Road at York Street in New Haven around 4 p.m., according to WFSB. Lim was pronounced dead at the hospital. In addition to being a Yale student, Lim was an intern at the Office of the New York State Attorney General over the summer, according to Lim's LinkedIn profile.
