New Recruit Joins Fairfield Police Force
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A new recruit has joined the Fairfield Police Department. Recruit Officer Felix Gonzalez will attend the Connecticut Police Academy starting April 1. He will begin the Fairfield Police Department's Field Training Program upon graduation from the Academy. Gonzales was previously employed by Chase Bank.

School District's Performing And Visual Arts Magnet Program Holds Auditions
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Mount Vernon City School District's Performing and Visual Arts Magnet Program will hold auditions for middle school students on April 1-2. Auditions will take place at Mount Vernon High School on Friday, April 1 at 5:30 p.m. and continue on Saturday, April 2 at 10:30 a.m. The new Performing and Visual Arts Magnet School is open to students entering grades 6 through 8 in the 2016-17 academic year. Vacant Hasbrouck Heights Building To Re-open As Hilton Hotel
HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- A vacant office building on Route 17 will re-open as a Home2 Suites by Hilton, according to The Record. The 120,000-square-foot structure will be converted into a 124-room extended-stay hotel with a targeted opening date of July 1, The Record reported. Nimeet Patel of 377 Lasalle Group LLC purchased the property for $4.75 million from Touro University College of Medicine in Hackensack in March 2011, The Record said. Metro-North To Run Buses On Danbury Branch Weekends In April
DANBURY, Conn. -- Metro-North Railroad will provide substitute bus service for Danbury branch customers between Danbury and South Norwalk on weekends in April. Substitute bus service will occur from Friday through Sunday April 1-3, 8-10, 15-17 and 22-24 due to track crossing work at various locations. RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Wooster School students presented 5-year-old Conner Curran of Ridgefield with his very own car earlier this month. The group of Wooster freshmen has successfully modified nearly a dozen Power Wheels cars for children with physical disabilities through the Go Baby Go Mobility Program, which is in its second year.
