Jesus Ramos, 90, Fairfield Resident
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Jesus Ramos, of Fairfield, husband of 63 years to Herminia Ballester Ramos, died Wednesday, April 27 at the Ludlowe Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Fairfield. He was 90.
He was born and raised in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, to the late Antonio and Carmen Ramos. He moved to Bridgeport in 1953, where he had many jobs in the Bridgeport area, including a company driver for Goya and a construction and foundry worker for E&F Construction. DANBURY, Conn. – Kathleen M. Beckett, wife of the late Thomas A. Beckett, died Wednesday, April 27. She was 93.
She was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Newburgh, N.Y., to the late James and Eva (McCloskey) Manning. She attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School in 1940. Prior to her retirement, she was the manager of Automation Industries Federal Credit Union. She also loved to bake, much to the pleasure of her family and friends.

WESTPORT, Conn. – Ronald (Ron) Vigars, of Westport, died Wednesday, April 20, after a brief stay at Norwalk Hospital. He was 86.
He was born May 20, 1929, in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada, to Richard and Shirley Vigars. His professional career spanned all across the transportation sector. His first job was with the Maritime Bus Company in 1949, after which he worked for the Canadian National Railways. He spent 38 years working for Air Canada (1953-91).

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Elizabeth S. Oakes, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Monday, April 25 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. She was 88.
She was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Poughkeepsie, to the late Myron and Frances Doyl. In 1947, she married Wilson Shultis. Then in 1952, she married Frederick Oakes. She was a control floor operator for IBM and retired in 1965. She was a member of the Christ Church Episcopal in Poughkeepsie.

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. – Florence C. DeGaetano, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1974, and formerly of the Bronx, died Monday, April 25 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 86.
Born April 4, 1930, in the Bronx, she was the daughter of John and Catherine Walsh. She enjoyed bowling, visiting casinos and vacationing. On Dec. 14, 1948, she married Charles “Pep” DeGaetano, who survives at home.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Mario Bovino, a resident of Stonington, Conn. since 2009 and a former Poughkeepsie resident, died Sunday, April 24 in Mystic, Conn. He was 87.
He was born Oct. 7, 1928, in the Bronx, N.Y., to the late Joseph and Josephine Perugini Bovino. He was married Sept. 11, 1954, to Margaret T. Martucci at St. Ann's Church in New York City. She predeceased him June 12, 2010.
